Day 22: Atlanta, GA

When we arrived in Lake City, we were warmly welcomed by a few parishioners. They were very gracious and excited to host us! They fed us an excellent lasagna dinner before the boys' full concert. The concert went very well--even getting excellent remarks from Mr. Stockwell. That night we had accommodations in the church's parish hall. The boys didn't know what to expect but were very excited to all be rooming together--in the SAME room! The night went well! Francis and I were very proud of the boys' behavior in the church. They were very professional and didn't complain once about the fact that we had 28 boys sleeping on air mattresses. It really didn't phase them...

After a fun-filled overnight in the St. James Episcopal Church in Lake City, we hit the road for Atlanta, GA. Francis told the boys two ghost stories before they hit the sack. We awoke early in the morning to a nice breakfast put on by a few of the church members. From the church we departed for Georgia. We stopped at a Shoney's for lunch where they boys had yet another buffet-style meal.

When we arrived in Atlanta, we were met by some parents of the Georgia Boy Choir. They hosted a pool and pizza party for the boys. After two hours of swimming the boys were split up into host homes for the night. Tomorrow we have a church service here in Atlanta, on Peachtree Road (well we are in Georgia after all...), before we keep moving along.

  1. I hope traffic from 70,000 visitors didn't delay you too much. Sounds like you all had a good day, and looking forward to seeing you guys come home.
