er all the boys had arrived at the church, we departed for St. Louis. Ironically, we crossed into Missouri and back into Arkansas twice! We drove on historic route 66 to St. Louis. We stopped at a rather unique rest stop in Missouri. It looked like a scene out of the Disney movie, Cars. The boys enjoyed it so much, we decided to take an early lunch! :) They played some soccer and we were on our way again! When we arrived in St. Louis, we decided to take the boys to the St. Louis Basilica. It was absolutely beautiful! It has one of the worlds largest mosaics. The ceiling is entirely covered in little squares of colored glass--hence mosaic (over 41 million pieces with over 7,000 colors)! The boys sang a few songs in the sanctuary before we left. They sounded so good--it was UNREAL! The tour groups were absolutely amazed at how great they sounded!
We the
n went to our hotel to check in before heading off to Hometown Buffet (the Old Country Buffet chain) for dinner. By the way the boys raided the dessert bar, you would think they have not had sugar in years! It was incredible!
We wanted to get the boys in the pool, but the weather was not cooperating. It was raining and storming, so the boys settled for an indoor R&R time. Many said that it was better than swimming anyway, so who’s complaining?! :) That’s all for today! We’ll see you soon!
