Day 11: Charlotte, NC

Today started off as any other day. We departed from the host families around 9:00. We set off for Charlotte, NC (a VERY long bus ride)!! Andy was a little worried because it was the longest bus ride we had to do tackle during tour (412 miles).

We stopped after an hour or two to take a "quick" rest stop. Unfortunately, two boys decided to make a mad dash at the truck stop. It took a little while to recover from the incident but the boys and staff handled the situation very professionally. We then left the truck stop and set off for Charlotte, NC once again. Since we couldn't tell the host families and church in Charlotte what time we would be arriving, we had to cancel the evening concert and home stays. The boys spent the night at the Days Inn on Tryon street (funny name for a street, huh?). But don't worry, we were still able to get the boys their mail!

They loved staying at the hotel because that night we had a Pizza party! I can honestly say that I have never, in my life, seen pizza go so fast. We ordered 15 large pizzas in total...all of which were gone in 25 minutes! Afterwards they went to bed and were out like a light. The busy day was over.

  1. Sounds like an awfully long day for all of you. Thanks for keeping the boys safe and sound (and fed)!
